Students’ experiences in using google form as an evaluation test tool in ELT: a case study at SMA YPM 2 Sukodono

Education has been significantly impacted by technological advancement. The advances in technology are increasing along with the characteristics of today’s students. Technology as an evaluation tool in education is one of the things that teachers can do. Among the several technologies, Google Form is an online application that can be used as an evaluation tool in ELT classes. This research aimed to investigate students’ experiences in using Google Form as a tool in doing evaluation tests. A quantitative approach was used to answer about “What are the students’ experiences in using Google Form as an evaluation test tool. 5 students from class X-5 at SMA YPM 2 Sukodono were interviewed and 35 students were administered in questionnaires for this study. The results revealed there are five different aspects of why students use Google Form as an evaluation test tool namely attractivity, accessibility, effectivity, utility, and efficiency. The majority of the students believed that they preferred to have a test using Google Form because of five aspects. Those five aspects obtained a high level of agreement from the students means that they liked Google Form as an evaluation test tool. The finding also highlighted that teachers can use Google Form as an assessment tool as the result indicated that the majority of the students preferred this media as an evaluation tool because of the five different aspects namely attractivity, accessibility, effectivity, utility, and efficiency.
