Kesalehan individual dan sosial dalam perspektif Tafsir Tematik: perbandingan pendapat Tokoh Nahdlatul ‘Ulama, Muhammadiyah dan Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia di Jawa Timur

Individual piety sometimes is called as ritual piety because it prioritizes the ritual worship activity “hablun minallah”, such as praying, fasting, praising Allah, etc. It is called individual piety because it only accentuates the worship which is relate d to God and each personal needs. On the other hand, social piety is called “ hablun minannas” which shows the people’s behavior who are much aware of Islamic social values such as being polite to other people, helpful, concerning on other people’s problems, paying attention, appreciating human rights, thinking like other people’s perspective, showing empathy which means being able to feel what other people feel, etc. The comparative opinions from Nahdlatul ‘Ulama, Muhammadiyah and Hizbut Tahrir scholars in interpreting two kinds of piety show there is no difference, all the three scholars have the same opinions that both kinds of piety is a unity. People are called “S}a>lih” if they have integrated both pieties. All the three scholars also agree that in reality is not always the same. Shaleh people in terms of their individual piety are not always good at their social piety; the stressing on each organization is different. NU structurally appears more on its individual such as jam’iyah istigha>s\ah, tarekat, yasinan, tahlilan, etc. Muhammadiyah emphasizes on the social piety such as building hospitals, educational institutions, BMT, etc. and Hizbut Tahrir highlights on the international political roles. For example, solidarity for Israel’s tyranny, the United States’ tyranny and other alliances and also the effort to uphold Syari’ah. The correlation between two kinds of piety does not emerge vividly. However, they agree on the correlation between both pieties.
