The riots that occurred between Muslims-Hindus in India started two months ago when Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which created controversy in the public, especially among Indians. The bill prompts the possibility of illegal immigrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan to obtain citizenship status, with the exception of those who are Muslims. The enactment of this bill certainly led to a rebellion which was triggered for the first time by attacks on Muslim groups who opposed the bill by Hindu groups who supported it. People were attacked based on their religion. The rioting received various attention from international online media, one of which was CNN. When reporting about Muslims, the western media often give labels such as fundamentalism, militancy, extremism, radicalism, and even terrorism, of which direction is clearly to discredit Islam. This research used the Robert N. Entman Framing analysis, which in this case has four dimensions, namely, define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments, and treatment recommendation. From the analysis, it was found that CNN online media, when framing the news of Muslim-Hindu riots, focused more on providing supports and solutions.
